Fly to Italy and discover the delightful town of Perugia in Umbria. The visit will coincide with the annual jazz festival with the chance to attend a number of these performances. The group will then continue to Verona in the north of the country, home to Europe’s third largest Roman Arena and the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. There will be an included daytrip to nearby Venice to explore its musical traditions. The tour ends in the walled city of Lucca in Tuscany with the chance to attend the annual opera festival in the town and in nearby Torre del Lago.
The tour will feature workshops, attendance at music festivals, visits to venues and the opportunity to participate in collegial discussions of best teaching practice. Professional development on this carefully planned program will be provided by experienced music educator Royna McNamara.
